It Never Rains but ........
Cats and Dogs in Shack Horror
Following hot on the heels of the Good Story about the Huskies and Wolves, comes this Horror Story of Cats and Dogs.

On the evening of Friday 11th April 2008, Save-a-Pet staff were called to a property on the Sea View Road P.E. A kilometre away from the dwellings they approached a shack, the stench of which could be sniffed some distance away. There were 2 darkened windows and no doors in this shed. The police were called and broke a window. What was discovered inside would make your hair stand on end.
28 cats and 2 dogs had been imprisoned in the shed for FOUR months. 6 cats that had gone wild due to lack of human contact, escaped after biting and scratching their rescuers.
They were all very traumatised and had no food or water, bedding, litter trays, no light and no way to escape. They were in a terrible state - drenched in faeces and urine.

This cat (left) had wounds round the neck consistant with having been caught in a snare trap and a deformed upper lip.

One of the dogs and some of the cats were blind.

Some cats had a bad case of snuffles.
The woman who owned the animals, acknowledging what she had done, said that she was unable to look after them after she was unemployed. Save-a-Pet has opened a cruelty case against her.
All the female cats were found to be pregnant and we are appealing for funds to cover the costs. Our banking details are:-
